The UST Varsitarian, the country’s premier Catholic campus paper, will screen internationally acclaimed films “Kinatay” and “Lola” at the 2010 Cinevita Film Festival on March 4 at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex Auditorium (TARC), UST, España, Manila.
On March 3, Cinevita will open with award winning films “HungHong Sa Yuta” (Gawad Urian best picture nominee) “Sanglaan” (2009 Cinemalaya entry), “Last Supper No. 3” (2009 Cinemalaya best film), “Dinig Sana Kita” (Toronto Film Festival entry), and the documentary “Demographic Winter” at the Rizal Conference Hall, St. Raymund’s Building.
At
the gala on March 4, Lola and Kinatay will be shown after which
Thomasian film maker Brillante Mendoza, 62nd Cannes Film Festival Best
Director, together with invited cast members of the two movies, will
answer questions from audience during an open forum.
The event is open to the public and admission is free.
Cinevita,
coined from the words cinema and “vita” (life), upholds the cinema as
tool for the meaningful expressions of life. It is a non-profit and an
educational endeavor of the Varsitarian.
