Canon Photomarathon 2010 Philippines Registration

Ready your cameras (and your fast internet connections) on Monday, October 25 2010! The online registration for Canon Photomarathon Philippines 2010 will start at exactly 1:30pm. From experience, the slots get easily filled up and the site even crashes at some point (think Cebu Pacific promo fares) because every shutterbugs want to be included in this fun event!


Things you should know about the Canon Photomarathon Philippines 2010:

1. It will happen on November 6, 2010. The base center will be at SMX Convention Center, SM Central Business Park, Pasay City
2. Successful registrants must be at the SMX at 6:30am. It will be a whole day event, ending around 11:00pm.
3. Like last year's competition, there will be a DSLR AND Digicam category. Only Canon users may register for the event
4. REGISTRATION IS FREE. Heck, EVERYTHING IS ACTUALLY FREE--food, participant kit, venue. Woot! There will even be games and raffles at night. Last year, the photomarathon event was held at Tagaytay Convention Center and Canon Philippines even provided several tourist buses for the participants to use. Awwww, thanks Canon Marketing Phils. Inc.!!!

Urbandub Major Concert Set List

I've been a dub fan since 2002 kaya naman sobrang kilig na kilig ako with the idea of the concert. Hihi. <3 We didn't get the VIP tickets na...we already had our VIP moment during the Pelicola.tv / Globe Tattoo Alive Out There live shoot. I hope the set list this time will be *a little* different. More songs from the older albums please!!!!

About Los Balcones

I recommend this place for families/friends/companies looking for a private getaway. It's very accessible, being 2-hours away from Manila (it's best to bring a private vehicle though). Best for groups of 20 pax, it has 5 rooms, a private pool, and ample parking space. You could bring your own food and drinks (corkage is included in the rental fee) and request assistance from the kitchen helpers when preparing meals. Also, FREE WIFI. Sold!!!!

Register for the Blue Water Day Spa Fun Run

To raise awareness for the Blue Water Day Spa 'Innovating Wholeness' Fun Run, several bloggers were recently invited to get-together at Kabisera, BHS The Fort. It was a casual dinner aiming to raise awareness for the company's first ever running event.

Company officials, together with celebrity icons Boom Labrusca and Karylle Tatlonghari, were present to answer queries from the guests.

"We aim to get 5,000 registrants," says Joanna Ong, Marketing Manager for Blue Water Day Spa. She also shared with us that the Fun Run will be a whole day activity filled with freebies, booths, and BRAZILIAN MODELS.

On October 22, 2010, my favorite Pinoy band Urbandub will have their first major concert!!!!

The last time I saw them was during the online concert shoot for Pelicola.tv and Globe, i.e. AGES AGO. I can't wait to see them again live! The good guys from Sonic Boom said that the concert will be held at Music Museum, Greenhills. No ticket prices yet but I want to be at the front row with my parked car night sky shiz.

A PR Love Story

PR is my first love and this is our story.

Stage 1: ATTRACTION 

It began in 2004 during a college syposium where Ms.Cosette Romero of Fleishman-Hillard Manila was the guest speaker. I may not remember her exact words but I do remember how I felt as she shared stories about her work. I knew then that PR would be a career I'll definitely consider.

Stage 2: ROMANCE

Summer of 2006, I landed an internship at Perceptions Inc. and was assigned under the Microsoft account. The Nievas gave me a glimpse of the real PR world and showed me how interesting it was. With that, I'll always be grateful for them.

Stage 3: PASSION
In the same year, I met Ms.Cosette again. I finally got the chance to work with her in an event that was graced by former president Fidel V. Ramos. The short stint for made me decide to finally pursue a career in public relation.

Stage 4: INTIMACY
Senior year came and I was lucky to have Mr.Bong Osorio, who still heads Campaigns & Grey then, as my mentor. A very humble and charming person, Sir Bong has become my idol and my friend.

Stage 5: COMMITMENT
Three weeks after graduation, I landed a job at Agatep Associates Inc. where I worked closely with Sir Charlie. My stay at AAI opened a lot of opportunities for me and gained me friends in the industry. I met a lot of people, went to different placed, and rubbed elbows with prominent people. Sir Charlie always tells me, "PR is a very exciting industry!" And to that, I could only agree.

I want to continue my love story with PR so I hope to join this year's Public Relations Congress. I may not work in a PR firm now now but it doesn't mean that I'm no longer interested in the industry. As a marketer and communications person, I believe I should continuously update my knowledge in order to create effective campaigns for brands that I handle.

I am especially interested in this year's theme, "PR 2.0. Build. Engage. Deliver." I'm sure participants will learn a lot from this 2-day event scheduled on September 23-24, 2010 at the Grand Ballroom of Intercontinental Manila.
